We had a presentation a the Digital Architecture Meetup
The third annual “Digital Architecture Meetup ‒ The Future of BIM Workflows” was held on 29 March 2023. Our BIM studio leader, Zsolt Oláh was asked to speak at the event. His presentation was entitled “BIM data science, or the journey of BIM towards machine learning”. The tribal drum live session in the room next door provided a nice musical background making the atmosphere less formal and the participants more open-minded. It was an interesting meeting point of these two separate worlds. 🙂
The event was opened by Csaba Livják with a comprehensive presentation on the BIM life cycle. He also covered numerous interesting topics, such as construction support, technical inspection based on BIM, and the scanning procedure with Boston Dynamics robots. He was followed by Zsolt’s presentation on “BIM data science”, dealing with a more technical, but rather important topic, which was BIM data and its correctness: how data is generated, how much data is included in a BIM model, who needs what data, how much of this is correct and how we can navigate in this large amount of data.
In his presentation, Zsolt described the current possibilities of data accuracy control and explained what is really necessary, what opportunities we will have in the future and what the solutions are. If you are interested in this topic, feel free to comment or message us at zsolt.olah@in-ex.hu.
The third presenter, Márk Zagorácz mainly focused on the topic of reusing completed BIM models, such as the use of VR and AR in occupational safety, or the design of automated fall protection from the structural models. We would like to thank the organizers for their work, for sacrificing their free time to organize this event and for being so active in building the BIM community.
