Showuswhereyouwork day (mutiholdolgozol) at STUDIO IN-EX

2023.04.24.

On April 11th, 2023, our general design office STUDIO IN-EX participated in the #mutiholdolgozol (aka #showuswhereyouwork) campaign for the first time. We organized an exciting day for the children of our co-workers. We asked CEO Balázs Molnár about why it was important for the company to participate in this initiation.

Why was it important to you to participate in this initiation?

The reason we consider participating in the #mutiholdolgozol event important is that, although we have always been open about welcoming the children of our co-workers at the office, we have never organized any programs, which would show the actual work we are doing.

How do you help your co-workers keeping the balance between their jobs and private lives?

We have been striving to keep the work-life balance of our co-workers from the beginning. We give the opportunity to all our co-workers to start their work at a chosen time of the day and to provide flexible working hours between certain limits. Our co-workers also have the opportunity to work from home once a week.

  • Mothers and fathers are always welcomed back after their parental leave by allowing them to work part-time for 2 or 4 hours enabling them to return to their jobs at their own pace.
  • We help our staff with children to arrange childcare during school holidays, providing daytime supervision and meaningful activities for the children participating in the programmes, according to their pre-assessed needs.
  • We also organize a Santa Claus celebration event for the little ones every year at the office, so the kids of our co-workers can get to know each other.

Why is it important to you to introduce the children to the workplace of their parents?

We believe that a good atmosphere, and a close-knit community are essential for effective workflow. We have designed our environment to give them the opportunity to relax while they work: ping-pong, darts, foosball and billiards. Creative work is clearly effectively influenced by doing exercise and free-time activities, and playing sports and games together is a very good way of building a community, so we bought digital games, like Nintendo and PlayStation, and dozens of board games to suit the needs. These also contribute greatly to strengthening the sense of belonging and to ensuring a good atmosphere. When the children of our co-workers visit the office, they realize that their parents spend their daily lives in a truly 21st century modern environment.

How did the first #mutiholdolgozol day go?

The day started with an office tour. During the tour the kids noticed the considerable number of Lego vehicles and buildings and they immediately got excited. They even got a miraculous construction machine to move with the help of the electrical engineering team, and they were amazed to see it in operation. In one of the meeting rooms on the third floor, they were welcomed by some amazing models, which they could take a closer look at during the presentation “What architects do”. This was followed by another presentation called “Mechanical engineering as the human vascular system”, during which they saw an exciting smoke extraction simulation. After this they happily tried the paper shredder. They diligently shredded the different papers. Meanwhile portrait photos were taken of all the kids and printed on the plotter. After a tasty lunch, the scavenger hunt began: with some help from the office floor plans, the kids were able to find the hidden Easter goodies really quickly. The afternoon continued with new excitements: Everyone had the opportunity to tour a building using the VR glasses. They could barely leave the VR experience, but the next interactive presentation called “Fire is not a toy!” also amazed the children. Finally, they could find out what the back office does apart from organizing such an awesome day for them. The participating children even got admission to the mysterious server room. After a short period of afternoon relaxation playing darts and ping-pong, the kids were tempted by the PS, and they barely wanted to leave the office. See you next year 😊
