Show us where you work – A day at STUDIO IN-EX through the eyes of children

2025.05.27.

We celebrated one of the happiest days of Spring at STUDIO IN-EX: it was the MUTIHOLDOLGOZOL DAY, also known as “Show us where you work”, when children could enter the world of adults, specifically the exciting universe of architects, mechanical, electrical and structural engineers. The programme was so colourful and busy that even we were surprised at how much we could fit into one day!

Morning tune-up – games, laughter, sunshine

We were already gathered on the lawn at 9am, where there was no shortage of laughter: ping pong, pool, darts – the good vibes arrived in the first minutes. The little ones were up and about in no time, getting to know their surroundings.

Mock-ups, dream houses and colourful animals

The morning was a real creative cavalcade. Nóri Kedvessy showed us what an architect does – and the children enthusiastically drew their own dream houses, while colourful animal figures came to life in their hands.

Afterwards, Alexandra Takács gave us an insight into the mysteries of the electricity network – with a little experimentation to keep everyone’s mouths open. After the “electricity magic”, Réka Szilágyi told us about all the things that mechanical engineers are responsible for – heating, cooling, ventilation and much more – that make a house really liveable.

A quiz where everyone won

Kata Móró‘s playful quiz stimulated the children’s memory: the world of cartoons and fairy tales is very familiar to children, and the kindergarten and school children were enthusiastic to participate, as they could finally show off their knowledge.

Spaghetti bridge and tower building? Of course!

Creativity was taken to a new level when Norbi Ábelovszki led the way in building spaghetti, a bridge with sticks and wooden spatulas and a tower with jenga, while learning about basic structural principles. It was not only exciting, but also instructive: who would have thought that pasta could take so much weight if it was fixed properly?

Pizza, egg hunts and smiles all around

After the morning’s excitement came one of the most anticipated parts of the day: pizza lunch! The children happily devoured their favourite slices and then headed up to the third floor – not to work, but to look for Easter eggs! Meanwhile, the cutest photos were taken, which will be fun to look back on.

As a closing: the world of designers through VR glasses

The highlight of the day was when Tomi Szilágyi took the kids on a virtual building tour. With VR glasses, they were able to wander through a building dreamed up by the designers – and everyone was really amazed.

It was a day to remember not only for the kids, but for us adults too. It was great to see so many curious, creative, open-minded little people watching what their parents were doing every day. Perhaps one or two future engineers were among them.

Thank you for being with us! See you again next year!

Hydro Extrusion’s solutions: heat dissipation

By Hydro's aluminium foundry project presented us with an unusual design challenge. We have strong acoustic requirements to protect the neighbourhood, and that the furnaces generate a lot of heat, which we had to dissipate while minimising noise.
