Know Your Data Centre

You want to increase power in your datacentre, change cooling techniques or would like to have a fast due diligence on a new acquisition for instance. It all starts with a scan of the existing infrastructure – what is exactly have installed, what is the technical life expectancy of the hardware and what is the status of the building structure.

The quick scan

As experienced datacentre designers, Studio IN-EX has developed a Quick scan for existing datacentres: • to check and define the possible data hall setup and the supporting technical rooms (electrical, generator/tanks, chillers etc.) • to assess the end of life of the critical infrastructural equipment • to check the IT technology related basic structural concerns • to generally check the building and its surroundings

How do we do it?

• Our engineers (CSA and MEP) will visit the site • We perform a visual inspection of the building itself and the building site • We will interview operational/maintenance staff on site to acquire additional information • We make a (high-level) 3D-scan and make lots of photos to provide input for the design team in our office

What do you get out of it?

• An interactive, online workshop with our findings and proposed solutions • Our opinion about the current theoretical maximum capacity and optimization (IT expansion) of the data centre • A report with an analysis of or the existing (MEP) systems • An overview of existing IT capacities • An overview of current operational risks, items to be changed immediately

What’s next?

Studio IN-EX can make a design for you (RIBA stages 1 to 4) to optimize the datacenter based on your requirements and budget. We have been working on smaller brownfields sites and huge greenfield developments. We are fast, flexible and affordable.
